Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using STICK (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Studio Mathias ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Eligibility

The App is available to users of all ages. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Description of the App

STICK is a daily 3D word puzzle game. Users rotate cube towers to align letters and solve four words per puzzle. The App offers three difficulty levels (5-letter, 7-letter, and 9-letter puzzles) and generates a new themed puzzle each day.

4. Free & Pro Tiers

The App is free to download and play. A free account provides access to the current day's 5-letter and 7-letter puzzles.

STICK Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks:

  • 9-letter puzzles
  • Access to the full archive of past daily puzzles
  • Shuffle & remix feature for additional scrambles

5. Subscriptions, Billing & Cancellation

STICK Pro is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription.

  • Payment: All payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account upon confirmation of purchase.
  • Auto-Renewal:Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Upon renewal, your account will be charged at the then-current subscription price.
  • Cancellation:You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's account settings (iOS: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions; Android: Google Play Store > Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to Pro features until then.
  • Free Trials: If a free trial is offered, the unused portion of the trial will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.
  • Restore Purchases:You may restore your subscription on a new device via Settings > Restore Purchases.
  • Price Changes: We may change subscription prices from time to time. Any price change will take effect at the start of the next billing period following notice.

6. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including but not limited to puzzles, word lists, themes, 3D graphics, animations, source code, visual design, the STICK name, and the STICK logo — is the exclusive property of Studio Mathias and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App
  • Copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the App or its content
  • Rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, or distribute the App to third parties
  • Use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the App's infrastructure
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access or interact with the App
  • Distribute, publish, or broadcast daily puzzle solutions in a manner intended to spoil the experience for others before the end of the puzzle day

8. User-Generated Sharing

The App allows you to share your puzzle results via a text summary copied to your clipboard. You are solely responsible for where and how you share this content. The share text does not reveal puzzle solutions.

9. Availability & Updates

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any feature thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We may release updates that change, add, or remove features. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the changes.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL STUDIO MATHIAS, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APP, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Studio Mathias and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with your violation of these Terms or your use of the App.

13. Third-Party Platforms

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Your use of the App is also subject to the terms and policies of those platforms. Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

14. EULA

For iOS users, your use of the App is additionally governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Studio Mathias is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

17. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
