1. Who We Are

Studio Mathias ("we," "us," or "our") develops and publishes STICK, a daily word puzzle game available on iOS and Android (the "App"). Our contact email is hello@wordstick.net. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

All gameplay data is stored on your device using local storage (AsyncStorage). This includes:

  • Puzzle progress (current rotations, move count, rotation history)
  • Solve times and elapsed time per puzzle
  • App preferences (sound effects, haptic feedback, timer visibility)

This data never leaves your device unless you voluntarily share your results using the in-app share feature, which copies a text summary to your clipboard.

2.2 Subscription & Purchase Data

If you purchase a STICK Pro subscription, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive, process, or store your payment credentials (credit card number, billing address, etc.).

We use RevenueCat, Inc.as a subscription management platform. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user ID and your subscription entitlement status from Apple or Google so that we can unlock Pro features. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not require account creation or login.
  • We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal identifiers through the App.
  • We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.
  • We do not use advertising SDKs or participate in ad networks.
  • We do not use cross-app or cross-site tracking identifiers (no IDFA/GAID collection).
  • We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, location, or calendar.

3. How We Use Information

  • Locally stored game data is used solely to save your progress and preferences so you can pick up where you left off.
  • Subscription status (via RevenueCat) is used solely to determine whether to unlock Pro features (9-letter puzzles, past daily puzzles, shuffle/remix).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data. The only third party that receives information related to your use of the App is RevenueCat, and only for the purpose of subscription management as described above. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Because game data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times:

  • Reset Today's Puzzle:Available in Settings to clear the current day's progress.
  • Reset All Progress: Available in Settings to erase all saved game data from your device.
  • Uninstall the App: Deleting the App removes all locally stored data.

To request deletion of any data held by RevenueCat on your behalf, contact us at hello@wordstick.net and we will process the request promptly.

6. Data Security

Game data is stored in your device's sandboxed app storage and is not accessible to other apps. Subscription transactions are protected by Apple's and Google's payment infrastructure. While no method of electronic storage is 100 % secure, we believe the risk to users is minimal given the limited and non-sensitive nature of the data involved.

7. Children's Privacy

STICK is suitable for all ages and does not contain objectionable content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because the App does not collect personal information, no parental consent mechanism is required. If you believe we have inadvertently received personal data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Users

The App is available worldwide. By using the App, you acknowledge that RevenueCat may process limited subscription data in the United States. No personal data controlled by Studio Mathias is transferred internationally because we do not collect personal data.

9. Your Rights Under GDPR, CCPA, and Other Laws

Because we do not collect personal data through the App, most data subject rights (access, correction, portability) do not apply in practice. However, if you are located in the EU/EEA, California, or another jurisdiction that grants privacy rights, you may contact us at any time to exercise those rights or ask questions. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
